Flag that video because Gena, Jenn and Joe are working in content moderation with Uta Briesewitz's American Sweatshop (2025). Starring Riverdale's Lili Reinhart as a woman-turned-vigilante, this film is part of a burgeoning subgenre we're calling "Good For Her...Oops, she took it too far."
Plus: Joel Fry's dangerous character, debate if the film is a call to activism, interchangeable men, and creating a perfect watchlist along with ...
Terry and Joe cross over the other side of the podcast as we inject ourselves with Brandon Cronenberg's feature debut, Antiviral (2012).
It's hard not to compare the film to his famous father's work, what with the sterile setting, the corporate espionage, and the body horror elements. There's promise here, but the movie feels too indebted to Cronenberg senior.

Ti West’s 2009 film House of the Devil is a pitch-perfect 70’s/80’s throwback that uses a familiar caregiver premise to pinpoint the perils of aging, caring for a loved one, and dependence. While we have looked at caregiving in a number of episodes, Nichole finds this film puts the societal ideas of caregiving right up front.

Terry and Joe return for a limited series on the children of David Lynch and David Cronenberg.
First up: Jennifer Lynch's feature film debut, Boxing Helena (1993) which drew vicious reviews and accusations of misogyny for its story of a clearly mentally ill man (Julian Sands) who abducts and mutilates the titular object of his affection (Sherilyn Fenn).
While we're not sold on the film as a whole (it's a bit sleepy), it seems ...

Bryan and Joe reunite to discuss the 25th anniversary of Scott Derrickson's Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) and they've brought along a fan of the film: Ari Drew!
The film finds Craig Sheffer returning to a Clive Barker property after Nightbreed, and, in the first of the DTV sequels, focuses its narrative on a male cop protagonist.
Plus: tagging in Kari Wuhrer, practical FX and new Cenobites, David Lynch noir vibes, and a game changing wa...
How bad can a movie with Naomi Watts be? 2016’s Shut In may have you rethinking that, in addition to pondering why Oliver Platt is contractually obligated to play a psychologist in all of his films? We’ll also discuss how this movie takes on tried-and-true horror tropes at the expense of portraying mental health issues and physical disabilities with any real nuance or care.
Gena and Jenn take Joe on a tour of the past as we explore the world of tortured author Shirley Jackson in the forgotten pandemic film, Shirley (2020).
The film is an intimate, meta tale featuring two great female leads in Elisabeth Moss and Odessa Young, plus a pair of shitty husbands, missing children, and an ambiguous lesbian attraction made literal. It's a solid film!

For Episode 101, we’re going Swedish with 2008’s Let the Right One In. Like many tales of vampirism that have been covered on this podcast, the analogy of vampirism as a disability is lit up in bold lights. But then there's also the aspects of caregiving, particularly the two main examples related to Eli seen in the film.

Bryan and Joe reunite once again. This time they're "celebrating" the 20th anniversary of Rick Bota's Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005) and they've brought along Horror Queers' Trace Thurman.
The film stars Henry Cavill in one of his first movie roles, but Rick Bota's movie drew ire from Hellraiser fans for its lack of Pinhead, as well as its mind-numbingly dumb twist ending.
The trio discuss the rushed production, the decent performances...

Jenn, Gena, and Joe are back with the incredibly stupid and entertaining "not Lifetime, but might as well be" title The Stranger in My Home (2025).
Starring beautiful plastic people with beautiful shiny hair living in beautiful shiny house porn, simply turn off your brain and relish in the perfect 90s thriller aesthetic.
Plus: concerns about being switched at birth, cheerleading routines, and egregious split screens. It's art!!!

For Episode 98, Bodies of Horror revisits James Whale’s 1931 film, Frankenstein, an absolute classic. Joining her for the discussion is podcaster and writer extraordinaire, Brian Keiper!
