Researchers have identified a bacteria that can regulate pH levels in the mouth and therefore help prevent cavities. Unbalanced pH levels in the mouth are created by plaques that make acids that eventually break down teeth and cause the cavities. Taking a probiotic pill could be all that is necessary in the future.
