(00:00):
South Dakota Governor Christy Nome has justcommitted national political suicide. She's toast put
a fork in her her big mistake. In her upcoming book, she now
in fact brags that she took afourteen month old dog, almost a puppy.

(00:21):
The name is Cricket. It wasa female dog pheasant hunting, and
she said the dog was just untrainable, wasn't able to hunt pheasant. Then
on the way back, she stoppedoff at a neighbor's farm or ranch,
and apparently Cricket went wild, goingafter chickens, snapping off their neck,

(00:42):
taking one bite, chewing their andbiting their heads or their necks off.
She said, at that point sheconcluded, this dog is too dangerous.
It is a mean, nasty, malicious dog, ultimately untrainable, And she
said it was a hard decision, but tough, necessary decision. She took

(01:03):
Cricket to the back of her ranchin the gravel pit, and she shot
Cricket in the head. Now,I've had many people who live in rural
areas who've worked on ranches, liveon farm say it's not pleasant to people
who live in the suburbs or urbanareas who have dogs as pets to have
to hear this. But sometimes youhave no choice. It's necessary. It's

(01:27):
a harsh reality of rural farm life. Sometimes you've got to take your dog
out and kill it. Okay, fine, I don't like it. Frankly,
it turns my stomach. I havea beautiful dog, Rocky, just
a little bit older than Cricket whenCricket was killed. To me, the

(01:49):
thought of killing Rocky, or shootingRocky in the head, or doing anything
bad to Rocky is unthinkable. Rockyis part of our family, Rocky,
I love Rocky, Ava Ashton,Grace, we love Rocky, and so
it's almost like killing a member ofour family should something happen to Rocky.

(02:14):
But I understand farm life, rurallife, especially on the plains, it's
very different. I get it.But what to me showed a colossal lack
of political judgment and that she isunbelievably tone deaf, is that she would
write about killing her dog in abook. Maybe in South Dakota or Wyoming,

(02:38):
or Montana or North Dakota, peoplewill understand about the need to kill
a dog, to shoot it inthe head, But in most of the
country, and most of the countryis what she would be playing to and
have to win the votes of ifshe was Donald Trump's vice presidential candidate.
They are dog lovers, were doglovers, and the liberal media will crucify

(03:05):
her for this, and many peoplewill look at her and say she is
cold hearted, she lacks compassion. She is clearly a woman who hates animals.
That may not be true, itmay be completely false, but once
she put it out in her book, now there's blood in the water.

(03:27):
Christineome has made a huge, hugemistake and it is one of the greatest
acts of political self immolation since GaryHart. No one was going to report
on this. The only one whotalked about killing her dog was Christineome.
And even if she had to doit, she should never have put it

(03:51):
down on paper. What she hasnow done is she has shot herself in
the foot. She hasn't just shotrit kid in the head politically, she
shot herself in the head.
