(00:00):
Uh, well, guys, youknow that I am a big time coach
in Little League. I have myfour principal philosophy of coaching. They really
do. But yesterday I was alittle bit taken aback because I was asked
to get in there and coach ina different sport, and I was wondering
if my philosophy works in a differentsport. My daughter came up to me

(00:22):
and asked me if I could coachher in dance. We ain't done yet.
Time for the one podcast over ayear, completely uncensored and unacting filtered
except for that part the the show'safter show starts. Now, you know,

(00:45):
the four principles of my coaching philosophypretty much work in all aspects of
life. Honestly, they really do. Well. You have to bring a
good attitude. Yeah, can youimagine that? That works for pretty much
everything. You gotta have some energy. You got to bring the energy.
Come in here, slumped over?No energy? Bullshit? I got time.

(01:07):
I ain't got time for that, right. You gotta focus? You
don't you're not focused. I ain'tagain, I got no time for you
can't be looking at butterflies, No, don't be spinning around. Come on,
let's go pay attention. Eyes up. That's right, and an effort.
You give me a good effort. That that trumps just about everything.
You give me a good effort. What am I supposed to say? You

(01:27):
give me your best heart. Ican't ask for anything more than that.
It's about heart. You do yourbest. I can ask for heart is
it's about heart, good principles. And so I was kind of stunned yesterday.
Everybody sort of knows these are theseare the words I live by,
yes and I was a little bittaken aback in surprise. I know you
don't have any tattoos, but haveyou started to consider putting the four I

(01:51):
would think people would be confused andthink I'm a member of the four horsemen,
which I don't want. I don'twant because I'm I own this big
Rick Flair fan. Be like,no, dude, Or you tattoo your
fingers with with the with the wordsgratitude would have to be the middle finger,
okay. Or you have the wordsthat designed to look like four fingers.

(02:15):
Bro, that's a deep, fullback piece. I don't know if
you need to go full back, pay a lot big letters gonna be You
went from nothing to a full sleep. But good guy. But but that
would be that would be a massiveback piece for four things that pretty sick.

(02:35):
Give me the definition of each thing. It would be weird if I
took my shirt off to the teamand kept you appropriate. Okay, look
look at look at my back.So I guess this is the words that
I live by. It is thefour principles of coaching. And I was

(02:58):
a little stunned yesterday and my daughtercame up to me because she last night
had an audition for the dance team. Adorable. This isn't like she's three.
Yes, it's for the high schooldance team. Oh man, she
this is my daughter. Though mydaughter gets into things, she immediately thinks

(03:22):
she's going to be good at it. Then she does the actual audition or
try out, and then fails miserably, and then it's gone. So this
is what she's done her whole life. I hate to ask this, Eddie,
because I know someone's gonna chirp upas soon as I asked this question.
But can I get the difference betweendance and cheerleading? Because I really
don't know the difference. I mean, you're why would you ask me when
I don't want to ask somebody else, somebody who's I don't want to in

(03:46):
school, I don't want to asksomebody else. I mean, I did
see an article the other day saying, Wow, our dance is the dance
team the new cheerleader because dance teamgirls are more popular than cheerleaders. Said
no, I didn't thank you fornot so what's the big difference? I
thought they were cheerleaders are for sports. Dance is a sport, thank you.
Now, cheerleaders will compete as well, but cheer has to have like

(04:10):
specific really like strong moves. Nowyou're getting to we're dances. I feel
like this. My answer was good. It was sufficient. They both compete,
they both go to you know whatI mean, what's what's the more
popular in high school? I thinkit depends on your high school. But
the school it was cheer squad.Every high school I've ever known, it's

(04:31):
been cheerleading. Yeah, but Skyclan, every movie you've ever seen hers,
it's cheerlead. The dance squad wasthe most popular, and according to a
recent article, it is now arecent article and then Sky also said that
the soccer team was more popular thanthe football team, and nobody went to
the football Frida night Lights. Theyall went to Bible study because because they
lost every time. It's just awild it was. I don't know so

(04:58):
anyway, my daughter, Yes,she's decided she's a dancer now. She
didn't want Has she ever tried cheer? No, so she didn't want to
cheer. No, it's a totallydifferent sport. Did she do dance as
a kid like younger, She dida little bit, but I mean again,
when she was like four doing anything, you're like doing ballet and barely
moving. I cry full, sobbingtears when she was up there dancing and

(05:21):
I was video recording it full stopwith the quarter. Yes, I did,
really I did. Do you heardo you hear some crying? I
don't remember. I want to watchit. I think it was silent tears
with me biting my lip because Ididn't want anybody else. You see a
little four year old girl up byherself. Look at it. It's so

(05:42):
cute. We're a long way fromthere, guys. My daughter's now fourteen,
and it's completely different. Yes,and this is the kind of things
that she does. Like I said, she was into volleyball for a couple
of coffee. Remember she immediately thoughtshe was going to be the greatest volleyball
player of all time. She didn'tshe No, she didn't trained very much,
she didn't practice very much, andthen went to try out for the

(06:02):
team and didn't make it shock herand then she quit. I've heard it
does a parent of a child thatdoes that a lot well on the show.
Again, this is it's a littlebit different. You talk about my
son. He does always think thatright away that he's gonna be there.
Yeah it's true. Yeah that's crazy, and he doesn't have to practice is

(06:25):
crazy. But yes, my daughterjust gets it in her head like I'm
gonna be good at this and itdoesn't usually work out. So I didn't
no offense, didn't have high hopesfor this dance audition. You know,
she has been in dance this semesterand a lot of her friends are in
it, so she wants to jointhe dance team because of it. Dance
at school, I think so.And your wife was a legit dancer,

(06:46):
so you think maybe some of thejeans carried over. But then you know
again, my wife tries to getin there and say, well, this
is what you need to do,and Taylor gives her the I got it.
Yeah, So that's what I stayout of it. My coaching lane
is over here. All that Deborahbe in that coaching lane because I don't
know anything about it's I'm not adance moment. Let's carry over anywhere I

(07:11):
feel like, do they? Iagree with you? Oh? Yeah,
I agree with you. So whenTaylor came up to me, like fifteen
minutes before they had to leave forthe Big Dance audition and said, Dad,
you're a coach. Do you haveany coaching advice for me before the
big dance audition? Wow? Whoaholy shit? Were you ready the holy

(07:31):
shit? Did you know? Well? Immediately, of course I flashed the
four. Oh yeah, Does everybodyin your house know that? Or is
it just on the field. It'sbasically in the field, but it applies
to all aspects of life. Family. So I mean, come on for
an audition of any sort. Ifyou have a good attitude, if you
bring the energy, you give mea good effort in your focus, You're
going to fucking win in life.Wow. So I did. I did

(07:55):
flash the four. But then Iadded on, even though I know nothing
about dance, I know nothing aboutthat she just look at you and go
yeah, like yes, she understoodit. That's that's that goes without saying
in life, you know the fourSo that's just life. Let's just let's
just move on from there. SoI did. I did question myself for

(08:16):
a minute, even though even thoughI am a b C, always be
coaching, I thought I was alwaysbe closing. No, no, no.
As a as a coach, yourABC means always been coaching, which
I do. In life, I'malways always coaching, always you need something.
And then when it came to this, though I have no experience,
what am I? What do why? I have to tell her when it

(08:37):
comes to dance, you are areally good dancer, Yes I am,
but that that's freestyle. This isn'tchoreography. That's what's up. That's my
lane. Have I won several danceoffs? Yes? I have beat up
our friend. Yes, I'll fuckingschool that guy. Dude. Wow,
give me start to play dance?Yes we can. Wow. Have we

(09:01):
done that at bars? Yes,we have that level. Did you guys
do that at Thor's wedding? NowI remember it's gonna happen, Yes they
did. Did you talk to herabout the importance of her facials, because
that's that's the advice. I honestly, why wasn't Sky and consultant consulting My

(09:26):
facials were SOCIALI that I remember onetime they had me sit in front of
the entire squad and do the entireroutine, but only with my face.
So I'm not doing any moves.I do the whole routine with my face.
What does that look like? That'sso horrific? Oh god, you

(09:48):
and you do the whole rootages. You can see that on YouTube. I'm
sorry, I'm sorry. It's it'sit's better with the music, better with
music. So, uh so youreally I sell it. You should not
have Taylor, that's what that's yourmoney maker. But okay, that's your
money maker, your money maker.I didn't bring up the facials or anything

(10:13):
like that because I don't know whatthat even means. Yeah, I don't
think you should have said your daughter, Hey, how are your facials?
Yeah that's really weird fourteen year old? Yeah no, I'm not doing that,
Okay, all right? Uh No, I said, Okay, I
got to make sure this advice makessense. I got to give her something
that really would work. And soI said, listen, get serious here,
look at him. Listen, he'sdead serious. Wow. Listen,

(10:35):
Taylor, no messing about you opposite. You didn't channel your inner lend Goodman.
No, because this isn't this isn'tballroom. Oh okay, faces,
you don't mess about in the ballroom. Okay, that's just for completely different
Okay, okay, completely full right, okay, alright, so listen,

(10:56):
Taylor, you need to fun.Wow. Okay, you get too serious,
you're gonna get in your own head. You're gonna suck up the whole
routine. Don't do that. Havefun, have fun. You forget one
step, keep going, you knowwhat. The more you're having fun,
the more they're gonna miss you, like missing a step or whatever. They

(11:16):
won't even catch it because you're havingfun then, especially if you got facials.
Oh yeah, that's where the funcomes. That didn't look fun.
What you were doing painful? Yeah, it's very torturous. Yes, I
can never look at that again.Sorry, Sorry, you too said have

(11:37):
fun? Wow, okay, havefun, and I walked away. That's
it, Mike drop what else needsto be said? I'm like, oh
nothing, I guess flash the fourprinciples and you got fun flash before and
have fun fifth principal set? Canwe go ahead of fifth Prince because I
don't want you could take having funin a direction it takes and then it

(11:58):
takes away focus. Yeah, andis there a room on the back tack
or another one? I don't thinkso, No reason why. No,
it's just tried and true. Youknow, funk with the four. Okay,
so should have the audition going terribly. She's gonna make the team.

(12:18):
I don't know, you're not fun.
