(00:00):
I'm a Legacy Retirement Group dot comphone line. We love talking to Fox

(00:04):
News contributor Liz Peak every week.It is the highlight for me and so
many of our listeners. You're afan favorite, Liz. Thank you for
the time. How are you thismorning? Good morning, I'm delighted to
join you. Thank you so yourrecent piece at foxnews dot com under the
opinions tab. There's been a lotof polls that have come out and they're
not very favorable to President Joe Biden, and in fact, a lot of

(00:26):
them have to do with minority voters, black voters, and his popularity is
shrinking and fast with that group.Yeah, and honestly, that's a devastating
thing, not just for Joe Biden, but up and down the Democratic ticket
and really for the Democratic Party goingforward. And what struck me is this

(00:46):
sort of perpetual categorization of black votersas being poor and ignorant and in need
of handout. That's sort of thetraditional Democratic Party approach to minorities in general.
And you know, come to findout, actually the big problem with
black voters right now is that somany of them are in the middle class,

(01:07):
so many of them own businesses, and guess what, just like everybody
else, they are struggling. They'restruggling with sky high interest rates. And
black business owners rely on credit carddebt and other forms of non bank lending
more than other people do for buildingtheir business. And so if you're trying

(01:30):
to build a company in Georgia, for example, or wherever, all of
a sudden, you're facing twenty fivepercent interest rates on the capital you need
to get you going, and thatis that's really crushing. I mean,
if you're looking at a sort ofentrepreneurial surge in the black community, and
I think that's actually happening, morepeople are starting up their own companies,

(01:53):
this is really a difficult thing foryou. So, you know, not
everyone is going to connect the dotsbetween Biden's highs spending, the fact that
we have thirty four trillion dollars infederal debt, the fact that unnecessary blowing
out the budget by Democrats early inthe buy yeers caused the sensation. But

(02:14):
pretty much everybody's unhappy with what weare now. Well, yeah, including
African American people. They know, they like everybody else, say that the
economy is their number one issue. And you know, It goes back to
were you better off four years agothan you are now? And you know,
they realize that, they realize whatwas going on when Donald Trump was
president, and they're hurting today justlike everybody else. That's right, And

(02:38):
really, I have to say,I don't know whether you share this,
but the idea that Joe Biden justgoes out on the stump and lies keeps
saying how inflation was nine percent whenhe took off, and it's just not
true. I don't know if hedoesn't. I honestly, I don't know
whether he kind of is aware ofwhat he's saying and whether those were are

(03:00):
being put in his mouth. Idon't care. He's the president. He's
out there saying these things, lyingto the American public day after day.
You know what, that's not okay. It is not okay that he is
just basically telling people's stuff that's simplynot true. And if you look at
his polling on personal qualities like honesty, people are onto this. They know

(03:21):
that what he's saying isn't true. And so I actually think that's leading to
sort of a whole cavalcade of outcomes, including consumer sentiment, which surprisingly last
month just went through the floor.I mean, you know, here's an
interesting thing that your listeners might wantto look at themselves or research themselves.
Consumer sentiment under Joe Biden has neverreached the level it did every year under

(03:46):
Donald Trump. I mean, sofor all we hear about how Donald Trump
threatens this, he's a threat todemocracy, he's a threat to minorities,
all that stuff, the truth ispeople were more optimistic during the four years
of Donald Trump, even during thepandemic. Even as the pandemic came on,
consumer confidence was above where we arenow. I mean, you know,

(04:10):
you just got to scratch your headsand say, what is it that
this team is doing wrong? Ithink a lot, including the fact that
it seems like you know, thatold I think it was Yogi Berra that
complained one day about you know,is there anyone here who can play this
game? I feel like that aboutthis White House. They don't have a
plan, they don't know what they'redoing. They're slapping huge tariffs on ebs

(04:33):
from China. I get it,they need boats from auto workers in Michigan.
Meanwhile, if you actually are dedicatedto electrification and they want to get
rid of gas guzzling cars. What'sworse than abandoning any hope of bringing the
prices down with competition from cheaper cars. I mean, I think it's a
difficult thing. But did anyone thinkabout that ahead of time? I mean,

(04:57):
you know, honestly, I don'tknow what they're doing half the time.
And I think most of America iskind of looking at the White House
and saying, man, does theEast wing even talk to the West Wing?
Do they know what they're trying toaccomplish? I don't think so.
Well. The timing of those tariffsare very interesting. Liz Peak, Fox
News contributor. Her latest story atFoxnews dot com. Very great read if
you have a moment. I seethat at the rally this past weekend in

(05:20):
Wildwood, New Jersey, where theyhad like one hundred thousand people for Donald
Trump. Former Giants football Hall ofFamer and lifelong Democrat Lawrence Taylor Lt.
Declared his support for Donald Trump, and he said, don't worry, no
one in my family will ever voteDemocrat again. Those are strong words,

(05:40):
they are, And it's like JoeBiden's worst nightmare because black men in particular,
and particularly young black men, aredefinitely trending away from the Democratic Party.
Interestingly, a majority of Blacks fora very large plurality, now describe
themselves as independence right away. Thatshould have Democrats shaking in their shoes.
But look, there are a wholebunch of reasons why this is happening.

(06:03):
Again, I would argue that theDemocrats continue to treat black voters as separate
and distinct from mainstream America. Wrong. These are people who are engaged in
the economy, They're facing the samechallenges as everybody else. And so I
don't think this is that surprising, except that historically, obviously, you know

(06:26):
what, ninety two percent of blackvoters in twenty twenty voted for Joe Biden.
Ninety two percent. I mean thatis some lock on a pretty on
fourteen percent of the population. Soto have that now trending away from them,
that was eight percent, you know, Republican. If the Republicans get
to fifteen to twenty. I thinkit was Tim Scott who said the Democratic

(06:48):
parties did. I mean, it'sjust interesting, right, And look,
I think Democrats need to target thecountry forget all this slicing and dicing population.
Well, that's what they do.Put on steroids, right, Yeah,
That's what they do. Is theylike to slice and dice and separate
people by gender or race, andthat's that's their playbook. Lose peak,

(07:12):
Fox News contributor, Slightly off topicsthat Liz. But with all of these
all of this news, all ofthese unfavorable polls for Biden, there have
long been whispers that the Dems don'twant him to be the nominee come convention
time. Do you think that's areality? Is we're just a few months
away from that that they'll replace himat the convention with with a Gavin Newsome

(07:35):
type person. So you know, people keep asking me that and saying,
gosh, I don't think he'll beHow could they want him as as their
candidate. You don't have to beSherlock Holmes to realize the guy can't function
as president. He's not functioning aspresident. I mean, I think that's
a legitimate claim that that, youknow, if he can't find his way

(07:57):
as he couldn't yesterday from the podiumin front of his own house to where
he's supposed to go in, something'swrong, right, But how do you
do that? Because guess what,Kamala Harris is right there and she's not
going anywhere without a very ugly fight. And by the way, I was
actually thinking this morning, Kamala Harrisis out performing Joe Biden everywhere. She's

(08:18):
on the campaign trail every single day. You know, we can all make
fun of her for sort of wordsalads and all the rest, but she's
working it. And my guess is, if there is a switch at the
convention, they're going to have topick Kamala Harris. I don't really see
how you could do anything else.
