Philadelphia's Hop Along meld the captivating, idiosyncratic vocals of singer/songwriter/guitarist Frances Quinlan with heavy doses of sincerity and explosiveness to form a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants indie rock. The group metamorphosed from Quinlan's quirky, lo-fi indie folk solo project called Hop Along, Queen Ansleis, which released one album, Freshman Year, in 2005. Her brother Mark Quinlan joined her on drums in 2008, Tyler Long was added on bass in 2009, the name was shortened to Hop Along, and the band was born.
