Agustín Pereyra Lucena was an Argentinian guitarist and composer. Born in 1948, he studied in Buenos Aires with Alejandro Maza, Lucio Núñez, Jorge Calandrelli, and José Tsilicas, but he ended up developing a career as an exquisite performer of Brazilian bossa nova. Much admired by the likes of Vinícius de Moraes, Baden Powell, and Toquinho for the way in which he infused bossa nova with tango, jazz, and French Impressionism influences, Pereyra released the first of his eight solo albums in 1970.
