Biography
Entering the Madchester scene at the tail end of the explosion, Airhead (originally known as Jefferson Airhead) resembled such bands as the Mock Turtles, the Real People, and Blur in its early days, rather than Madchester godfathers the Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. Lead singer and songwriter Michael Wallis guided the band through one album, 1992's Boing!!, before being dropped by their label. After an indie single on Mother Tongue, the band called it quits. ~ Steve Huey
