Air Max '97, the alias of electronic musician/producer/DJ Oliver Van Der Lugt, describes his material as "nightmare dance music." But it's hardly as terrifying as that nickname might indicate -- fast-paced and frenetic, sure, but quite enjoyable in its quirks. Born in The Netherlands and raised in New Zealand before settling in Australia, Van Der Lugt grew up on a steady diet of industrial and noise music, which no doubt influenced his eventual style.
