Alexander Briger is an Australian conductor. Educated at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he studied violin, and the Richard Strauss Conservatorium in Munich, where he earned a degree in conducting, he went on to assist his uncle, Charles Mackerras, in several performances. He also established himself as a conductor of modern music, studying with Pierre Boulez and the Ensemble InterContemporain.
