Alexis Venegas

Chilean singer/songwriter Alexis Venegas started getting involved in the local music scene during the 1980s, having the opportunity to perform his music while participating in the Víctor Jara's Festival. He came in first place with "Posiblemente La Verdad" and won the Violeta Parra's Festival the following year with a song called "Paloma Callada." In 1998, the artist decided to spend precious time to get his first album done. That record, called Deja El Miedo y Ven A Volar, was finished after three months of recording sessions and released in October of 1999. ~ Drago Bonacich
