András Adorján is a Hungarian-born flutist known for his expressive phrasing and rich timbre. He is also a prolific recording artist and has recovered and reintroduced lost and unknown works by several important flute composers. Adorján was born in 1944 in Budapest, and as a child he played the piano and a Hungarian shepherd's flute. When he was 12 years old, he started taking flute lessons from Vilmos Bántai in Budapest.
