Harpist Anneleen Lenaerts is one of her instrument's leading contemporary exponents. She has concertized widely both as a solo harpist and as a concerto soloist, and she is the principal harpist of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lenaerts was born on April 26, 1987, in Peer, in Belgium's Limburg region. Her first teacher was Lieve Robbroeckx, and she began an impressive run of 23 prize wins in 1997.
