Asche is the musical alias of German-born Andreas Schramm, a notable figure in the country's industrial and noise subcultures. Schramm's droning, ambient work has been on display since the late ‘80s, when he co-founded the musical collective Ars Moriendi with, among others, his future wife Andrea Börner, who also performs under the name Morgenstern. (The pair also collaborated in the experimental electronic projects KYAM, Monokrom and Templegarden's.)
