Asher Fisch is an Israeli conductor, equally known for his operatic and symphonic work. Starting as an assistant to Daniel Barenboim, Fisch went on to be the associate conductor of the Berlin State Opera. In 1995, he conducted Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer at the Los Angeles Opera, and over the next five years he served as chief conductor of the Wiener Volksoper.
