Avery Sunshine is an American singer, pianist, and composer whose progressive R&B style joins neo-soul, gospel, jazz, and contemporary R&B in an uplifting approach, with a voice reminiscent of Minnie Riperton's. After working on Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns and in Dreamgirls, she performed at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and at President Barack Obama's inauguration the following year.
