Azar Lawrence is an American saxophonist, composer, and bandleader based in Los Angeles whose big, open tone is at once exploratory and soulful. With a career that stretches more than half a century, he has worked alongside jazz legends including McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis, Woody Shaw, and Elvin Jones.
