Baest

Baest is a death metal quintet based in Denmark. Their punishing unclean vocals and riff-and-chug-heavy aesthetic emerge directly from '90s to 2000s death metal. Early albums including 2018's Danse Macabre and 2019's Venenum drew critical comparisons to Morbid Angel and Entombed. Baest evolved to create their own musical approach on 2021's concept-driven, dystopia-themed Necro Sapiens, which was followed by 2022's Justitia EP.
