Bappi Lahiri Sharon Prabhakar

Bappi Lahiri's work was the epitome of modern Indian songwriting. His music thundered out of car radios and ghetto blasters wherever Indian popular music is heard. He established a large following through his soundtrack work for films such as Rock Dancer and Disco Dancer. He was remarkably prolific, and in 1986, he set a world record by recording 180 songs in a single year. Bappi Lahiri died on February 15, 2022 after contracting a lung infection; he was 69 years old. ~ Ken Hunt
