Beach Bullies

The Beach Bullies were a short-lived British post-punk duo consisting of Soft Boys associate James A. Smith and vocalist Jill Fricker. Their minimalist, lo-fi tunes, recorded entirely with a guitar and drum machine, were alternately witty and wistful, balancing sentiments of heartache and loneliness with a sharp sense of humor. The duo only recorded one LP, We Rule the Universe, which appeared on Musclebound Records in 1980. A second album was attempted, but never finished.
