Black Spirit

Black Spirit were one of several Italian bands whose predilection for hard rock a laBlack Sabbath and Atomic Rooster sent them northwards to Germany in search of an appreciative audience. Formed around 1969 and still at work in 1978, Black Spirit were based in Nuremberg and gigged regularly. Recordings, however, appeared to hold less allure to the group - it was 1978, again, before they released an album, a self-titled collection of five songs recorded over the course of the last decade and issued by the local Brutkasten label. ~ Dave Thompson
