Brooklyn-born Bob Hastings is, understandably, best known as an actor and voice artist, with a long succession of memorable roles. On radio from the 1940s, he was Archie Andrews in an NBC network adaptation of Archie Comics, and on television in the 1950s, among numerous other roles, he worked in the small-screen version of No Time for Sergeants and spent four seasons as Lieutenant Carpenter on McHale's Navy before moving on to play Bert Ramsey on the daytime drama General Hospital.
