Bob Horton

Tenor saxophonist Bob Horton hailed from Liverpool and joined a German rock band called the Bats in the early '60s. The Bats might have driven Horton bats; at any rate, he left the group after six months. He shows up on a four-CD box set from the Bear Family label that documents the exhausting activities at Hamburg's famous Star Club, longtime home for this sort of group. This Horton should not be confused with the jazz trombonist of the same name who shows up on many recordings. ~ Eugene Chadbourne
