Formed in 1997, Canadian hip-hop crew Brassmunk spent the lion's share of their first few years together releasing a steady stream of independent singles before the major label Virgin came along and offered them a deal. Members S-Roc, Clip, Agile, and May 19 released their first EP, Dark Sunrise, on 54th/Virgin in 2002, and in 2003 the EP was expanded and re-released as a full-length with the group's early work added on.
