A Texas-based combo who play a sprawling, but approachable strain of jangling art rock, Buttercup first emerged out of San Antonio's vibrant music scene in the mid-2000s. Records like Sick Yellow Flower (2005) and Hot Love (2006) established them as tasteful eclectics with a knack for both melody and sidestepping the obvious path.
