Biography

Formed in Queens, New York, USA, in 1958, this vocal quintet consisted of Nick Santamaria (lead vocals), Mike Mincelli (first tenor), Vinny Nacardo (second tenor), Frank Reins (baritone) and John Apostol (bass). They were best known for the doo-wop ballad ‘There's A Moon Out Tonight', a US number 3 single in early 1961. The song was recorded by the Capris in 1958 and released on the small Planet Records label; however, it was not a hit and the group disbanded.
