Carolyn Sampson has been proclaimed "the best British early music soprano by some distance" by the editors of Gramophone magazine. Often performing and recording the music of Handel, she has also appeared on conductor Masaaki Suzuki's cycle of Bach cantatas and has recorded music of eras later than the Baroque. Sampson's recording catalog is large and includes work for multiple major classical labels. In 2025, she released the album Schubert's Four Seasons on the BIS label.
