Initially formed as a ska band in 1999, Christian punk band Children 18:3 eventually found their sound in 2001 when they switched from a five-piece to a pop-leaning power trio made up of siblings David, Lee Marie, and Seth Hostetter. As a newly formed three-piece, Children 18:3 found their sound playing around their home state of Minnesota before releasing two EPs, 2004's Places I Don't Want to Go and 2006's Songs of Desperation.
