Chris Tarry

Juno Award-winner Chris Tarry is a prominent bassists in the modern jazz scene. Although based in New York City, Tarry was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on August 24, 1970. In 1993 he formed his own group, called -- obviously -- the Chris Tarry Group, and with said group recorded and released eight albums over the course of the ensemble's 15-year career. The lineups of Tarry's bands have been ever-changing, resulting in different sounds, but also nearly always resulting in award nominations.
