Circus was originally known as the Stormsville Shakers, a London-based R&B group led by Philip Goodhand-Tait, which supported Larry Williams on his 1965 UK tour. The band recorded several singles in its own right for the Parlophone label, the last two of which - ‘Sink Or Swim' and ‘Do You Dream' - featured their newly acquired Circus appellation.
