Named for its founder and lead singer Anthony Civarelli, CIV blends traditional hardcore punk with an upbeat philosophy, earworm melodies, and punchy rhythms. Formed in 1994 by Civarelli, Arthur Smilios, and Sammy Siegler, all former members of New York's Gorilla Biscuits, CIV issued two studio albums and multiple 7"s before ceasing operations in 2000.
