Californian shoecore outfit Cold Gawd blends R&B-style melodies into the hardcore/shoegaze hybrid for a fresh, intriguing sound. On its first two albums, Cold Gawd was entirely the work of multi-instrumentalist Matthew Wainwright (born December 24, 1999), who moved to California with his parents as a child and was raised in Rancho Cucamonga, about 40 miles east of L.A. in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.
