Colin Currie

Colin Currie is a Scottish percussionist known for performing adventurous contemporary repertoire. He has worked closely with composer Steve Reich and recorded and performed many of his compositions. He was born in Edinburgh in 1976, and he started learning the piano when he was five years old. The next year he became inspired to play the drums after seeing legendary jazz drummer Buddy Rich perform, and he started taking drum lessons.
