Eclectic jazz group County Road X was formed by Erik Deutsch in Boulder, CO, in 2001. Deutsch was born in Washington, D.C., in 1976 and began piano studies at age six at Vanderbilt University. He moved to Boulder in 1996 to attend the University of Colorado and became a member of the jazz band Fat Mama, which released three albums and did the score for the 1999 film Trans.
