Dave Zoller

Dallas-based pianist Dave Zoller's interest in jazz arrived during his adolescence when at the age of 13 he heard a Dave Brubeck album, while attending a Boy Scout camp, no less. He became completely hooked after hearing Miles Davis' Kind of Blue. There wasn't much jazz played around the Zoller household until then. Zoller's first professional gig came while attending S.M.U. in Dallas, TX. In 1965, after a three-year hitch in the Army, he attended U.M.K.C.
