David Freeman

Established musicians such as Annie Lennox, Tom Jones, and Alison Moyet have sung lyrics written by David Freeman, a singer who has inspired a small yet devoted cult following since his work with the new wave band the Lover Speaks in the mid-'80s. In the late '70s, Freeman was a guitarist for the punk group the Flys, releasing two LPs. After the Flys broke up in 1980, Freeman tried to become a solo artist; he recorded the single "Stop in the Name of Love."
