R&B vocalist Deemi, hailing from Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, took singing seriously as early as high school, attending Manhattan's Talent Unlimited High School. In 1998, she crossed paths with producers Chris Styles and Bruce Waynne.
