Singer, rapper, songwriter, and musician Dende promotes nontoxic R&B that favors emotional depth over heedless self-indulgence. Based in Houston, the lifelong Texas native released his first commercial singles in 2018 and offered DrkMttr, his first of many primarily succinct projects, the following year. After independent offerings such as Me? (2020), A Happy Man (2021), and '95 Civic (2023), Dende signed to Def Jam and made his label debut with I Am, Because You Are... (2025), a six-track EP.
