Deny & Dino met in Santos in 1956 when both worked for the same radio station. When Dino was fired, Deny threatened the direction with his own resignation. Dino was kept and the duo Os Boas Pintas formed, performing in radio shows and clubs. They were presented as Deny & Dino in 1966, when they had success with their composition "A Coruja" (with which they won the 8th Chico Viola prize, as one of the best of that year).
