A Swedish avant-garde metal ensemble with a penchant for combining elements of jazz, swing, classical, and progressive rock with Marshall stack-powered sonic might, Diablo Swing Orchestra was founded in 2003 -- the group wryly cites a lineage that dates back to the 1500s. Originally conceived as a sextet, the band issued an EP, Borderline Hymns, in 2003, with their first full-length outing, The Butcher's Ballroom, arriving in 2006.
