South African rapper/producer Dope Saint Jude crafts her own beats, giving her distinct flow the perfect backdrop. Born Catherine Saint Jude Pretorius in Cape Town, she faced adversity from the get-go. Undeterred, she led the charge in Cape Town's drag scene, using the name Saint Dude to become a drag king based loosely on Lil Wayne. Her second alias, Dope Saint Jude, emerged in 2013.
