Originally under the moniker MK Ultra, Doubledrive's heavier rock influence first hit their hometown of Atlanta, GA, in 1996 with their lineup consisting of Troy McLawhorn (guitar), Joshua Sattler (bass), Mike Froedge (drums), and Donnie Hamby (vocal). For the three years that followed, Doubledrive's van would take them to gigs all throughout the Southeastern United States.
