Durango 95 formed in 1981 in Oshawa. Members were lead singer Greg Weir, guitarists Paul MacNeil and Rob Sweeney, drummer Darren Smith, and bassist Roger Branton. Before long, the guys began landing gigs performing in Toronto, Canada, at clubs along the famous Queen Street scene.
The group's debut album, Lose Control, was released in 1983 on the Star Records label. Durango 95 struggled to stay alive for a couple more years, but found the band ran short of any real staying power. It fell apart completely by 1985.
