After starting his career as a pianist, Enrique Bátiz founded the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México ("Mexican State Symphony Orchestra"). One of Latin America's most widely known conductors, Bátiz was active throughout Mexico and Europe and had a robust recording career.
