Conductor and cellist Eric Jacobsen co-founded and remains associated with several of the most innovative U.S. ensembles. He is also a member of the Silkroad Ensemble headed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and he has both played cello with and conducted the group. With his brother, Colin Jacobsen, he has been a principal force behind the New York contemporary music group The Knights. Jacobsen's recordings, mostly with The Knights, include 2024's Anna Clyne: Shorthand.
