Boston, MA, speed metal trio Executioner was formed in 1984 by vocalist and guitarist Marc Johnson, bassist Ari Vianio, and drummer Dan Scannell. Their debut album, In the Name of Metal, was released by the New Renaissance label in 1986, and was followed by a U.S. tour also featuring underground favorites Voivod, Kreator, St. Vitus, and Dream Death.
