Farewell to Juliet

Vocalist Brant Hansen and Jeff Elbel (guitar, keyboard, vocals) formed Farewell to Juliet with bassist John Bretzlaff, drummer Jeff Schmale and guitarist Carl Oberg. The group, influenced by '80s FM-radio rock like the Police and the Fixx as well as '70s progressive rock, released Echoes of Laughter in 1993 on the Marathon label. By 1996, however, only Hansen and Elbel remained from the original lineup. They recruited vocalist Suki Chaney, guitarist Lewis Richey, bassist Steve Oberg and jazz drummer Jonathan Edwards for the second edition of the band. ~ John Bush
