A Singaporean pop artist known for his smooth tenor voice and romantic, R&B-influenced songs, Ferhad rose to popularity in Malaysia in the early 2000s. Building off the success of his breakout single, "Kasih Berubah," the singer went on to release a concert album, Soul Alive (2001), and studio follow-up, Katakan Saja (2003), sung in a mix of Malay and English.
