Biography
Laburnum's Wes Grasty formed First Night on Earth in 2001 while searching for a new creative direction. Joining him were Stephen Yount (guitar), Chris London (bass), Tina Cargill (vocals/guitar), and Vance Carlisle (drums). Composing a lush dream pop/space rock mix to match the heaviness of Chapterhouse and Ride, First Night on Earth signed to Liquilab Records in their native North Carolina in summer 2001. No One Knows Anything for Sure, their debut album, was issued in spring 2002. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
