Also known as La Fonky or la FF, the Fonky Family was a French hip-hop crew that hailed from Marseille. The group emerged in 1994 and made their first appearance on wax on the 1995 Akhenaton (debut) solo album. 1997 would see the Fonky Family make a full-length debut of their own with the album Si Dieu Veut. The album sold quite well, it went gold, in fact, but that was tempered by the departure of founding member Karima soon after.
